Disney’s New Star Wars Park Isn’t Just For Kids—It’s For Rich (Older) Dudes Too

From my point of view, this isn’t a negative at all. 🙂 Strategy makes sense and money.

From Bloomberg:

‘“Last year we went to Ireland for the summer,” Ridley joked. “This year we’re going to Galaxy’s Edge for the weekend.”

Ridley represents a potentially lucrative demographic: fans who are older and more affluent than the typical young parents pushing strollers to Cinderella photo ops. With money to spend and time to travel all year long, they’ll help make Disney’s Star Wars investment an even bigger hit.’

Disney Bans Larger Strollers and Loose Ice at Its Parks in California and Florida

Damn that loose ice. Thank God for that. We need ECV mitigation too. 🙂

From the Washington Post:

“Starting May 1, visitors can no longer bring strollers larger than 31 by 52 inches or stroller wagons into the attractions. By eliminating these behemoths, the theme parks hope to open up passageways that are expected to grow even more crowded this summer, when Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opens at Disneyland Resort in Southern California (May 31) and Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios in Florida (Aug. 29).”

Here’s What Disneyland and Disney World’s New Star Wars Land Really Needs: A Bathroom Pass

I guess this is better than random people constantly pushing past you in line claiming to be rejoining their family.

From USA Today:

“You will be given a pass the size of a credit card attached to a lanyard. On it are the name of the attraction, the words ‘Queue Re-Entry’ and, prominently, the silhouette of a running person. It may not say ‘Bathroom Pass,’ but everyone will know why you need it.”

Why Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Won’t Be as Crowded as You Think It Will Be

From Attractions Magazine:

“Looking at those comparisons, we come to this: A new Star Wars-themed land that is nearly as large as Hogsmeade, Diagon Alley and Pandora – The World of Avatar put together!”

Even with the size of the land itself, I still want to ride the attractions without four hours in line for each one.

Just being in the land isn’t enough for us. Enjoy those benches!
